Life After People (Part 3)

One hundred and fifty years later, the buildings especially the high buildings will become a vertical ecosystem completely. Cats will be a ruler on the top of the cities. The cats may be evolution to some kinds of animals that can fly as the flying squirrels. On the land, the wolves will hybridization with dogs. The large predators will appear everywhere. The life in the ocean will resume quickly without the garbage and hunt like what happened during the World War 2. Great amount of seagulls will die without the landfill. They have to feeding in the natural way.

Two hundred years later, The Eiffel Tower and the Jin Zu railway viaduct that have the same structure with steel and built in the same period will fall down in sections one by one by the strong wind.

In one hundred year to three hundred year after people disappeared, the whole world will become to a large collapse times. The skyscrapers include the landmark buildings will all collapse.

Five hundred years later, all of the steel will rust and even all of concrete will be broken.

One thousand years later, the cities will disappear completely. Some of the roads will become to rivers and streams by rain and snow. The water system will be rebuilt. May be there will appear some hills.

Ten thousand years later, the radio waves and the sign of TVs will become to noise and go on forever. Some ancient buildings like the Great Wall and the pyramids may be still exist. The stone statues on the granite like the President Hill in America will be eternal in the world. The orangutans will evolution to the intelligent beings like humans. They will take humans’ place and be the dominate in the world.

Life After People (Part 2)

Five years after, the world will be covered with green. The whole world is a nature. The trees and the grasses are growing, the animals will come back, all of these just like a big forest.

Twenty years after, all the things will come back to the original. The animals that are in the zoo will escape or die. The plants grow in the crack at the wall in winter, the water in the plants freeze and let the crack expand gradually. The plants also root on the foundation make the pressure of the building is increase. At last, the buildings made by concrete will be decomposed. The birds will nest in the buildings. There have a real place that you can see and feel the situation in our world. The Soviet nuclear leak was happened twenty years ago. In that place, the people have lift since 1986. The facilities rust, the whole things are corroded. But unfortunately, the unclear leak killed the most plants and animals in 1.5 km.

Twenty-five years later, the humans’ footprint will disappear. There has another serious problem that the flood protection will stop. Some of the cities are lower than the normal level where like London and Amsterdam. They will flood and disappear forever. The glasses of the buildings will be broken, the lightning rods rust either. When the summer storm comes, the lightening will let the cities in the flame. The pigeons will life in the buildings. The wolves are rising rapidly without being hunted and they will rule the mainland.

Forty years later, the buildings made by wood will have the biological erosion like termites, burn and chemical attack. All of these will let the buildings destroy. The buildings made by stone or granite will be attacked with weathering and salts except the buildings in desert. The monument will have the same situation without repairing and protecting. The dams will fall down, the flood will destroy everything that it has passed. The paint of the cars will fall and the cars rust. The cars more closer the sea, will rust more faster, the cars more closer the desert, will rust more slower.

Fifty years later, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco will begin to have the oxidation erosion. The cables of the bridges have 98% iron. They will rust gradually.

One hundred years later, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge will fall down to the riverbed by the 1/3 cables fracture. Some important paper files in strongboxes will be destroyed without power. The temperature and the humidity of the strongboxes will get higher and higher. The videotapes and the photos will seethe. The microorganism will have large growth with high temperature in the library. The digital media likes DVDs and VCDs will disappear. It is so laughable that the advanced technology is defeated by the painting on the stones which made by the ancients.

Life After People (Part 1)

Have you think about the happen when there is no any people in the world? What will happen at the age of population zero? We don’t know how human beings become extinct. But we can imagine the world without human beings in science.

In this age, time is no use. In few hours, 70% power plant using coal and carbon will closed without people work. Most of lights will off in the world.

Two days after, the nuclear power and wind power without people work will closed too. All the electricity will be broken off except the southwest of USA. All of the place will in the dark except Las Vegas. There will have the only lights all over the world. The Hu Fee Dam works by hydropower will de the last working power plant in the world. The system about electricity will collapse. The pumps pump water keep the tunnels out of flood will be stopped. The groundwater will rise and flood the tunnels.

One week after, the food in supermarket and in refrigerator will rot. The dogs as the pets will die because of starvation and fight. The kinds of the dogs and the survival skills they have that is an important factor to let them survive.

Few weeks after, the rats and the cockroaches will eat all the food which human leave. The rats will come back to the nature. They will be preyed by other animals and the number of the rats will reduce. The cockroaches will eat the books, papers and woods. But they are the tropical animals. They will die great amount without human beings in the first winter. The pest will in the prime age without pesticide.

Six months after, the cities will become to a wilderness, the small predators will come back to the cities.

One year after, the most physical effect is the plants. The plants will grow up and spread. They can destroy everything in few years. At first, they will grow up and wither. The moss and lichen will grow up. Then they will change to be the dust and cover all the grounds. Some plants will spread on the wall. They let the wall pressure increase. Finally, the wall will fall down. The lightning also makes the forest on fire. It burns the threes and also the buildings by wood. All of these will become to the nutrient. The Hu Fee Dam will be covered with microorganism. They will block the cold water pipes without cleaning. The pipes will overheat and let the generators closed. All the electricity is gone in the world. There are no more lights at night. The upper reaches of the Hu Fee Dam will arrive to the discharge point and the lower reaches will become dry.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven (Part 5)

Eddie finds that he is keeling on the rocks. He stops crying to look around and see a river in front of him. There are several kids washing in the river. A little girl walks to him and tells him that her name is Tala.

Eddie asks her that can he meets his wife again? Tala nods to him. Eddie asks Tala what’s the reason that he meets her? Tala tells him that he burned her during the World War 2. Suddenly, Tala’s face is covered with the scar. Eddie is so sad and tells her that he didn’t know there had people in the house that he burned. When he saw the little shape, he waned to save her.

Tala walks to the river. Eddie follows her. Tala stops in the center in the river. She turns to Eddie and gives him a rock, tells him to wash her as other kids. Eddie wipes Tala’s skin by the rock. To be surprised, the scar on Tala’s skin is gone. So Eddie doesn’t stop wiping her until the scar is all gone.

Eddie asks Tala is that a punishment that he had to stay in Ruby Pier for his whole life? Tala smiles and tells him that Ruby Pier is the place he had to stay. He kept the people saved everyday. The people in Ruby Pier loved him and respected him. Eddie not only brought them safe, but also brought them happy. Everyone have their purpose in the world. Life is useful. The purpose that Eddie to be is in Ruby Pier.

Eddie understand all the answers of his life what had confused him for his whole life. He asks Tala if he did really save the little girl out of the danger. Tala nods and tells Eddie that he pushed the little girl before he died. Eddie tells Tala that he just felt he had pulled the little girl not pushed. He could feel the hand. Tala smiles and tells him that the hand he felt was hers. She pulled him and brought him to the heaven.

Tala pulls him again as what happened when he died. Eddie goes to his own heaven, Ruby Pier. In his heaven, all the people smile to Eddie. Some of the people Eddie knows, but some of them Eddie doesn’t know. No matter Eddie knows or doesn’t know, they are all connected each other. Eddie keeps walking. Suddenly, he stops and sees his wife on the chair waiting for him ……He will be one people that others meet in heaven. He is waiting for someone in his heaven.

This story is so interesting and having meaning. I love this book. I hope you will enjoy this book too. And having some revelations.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven (Part 4)

Eddie is in a beautiful place where is having a wedding ceremony. Eddie sees the different wedding ceremony one after another when he keeps walking. Suddenly, a lovely dog runs to Eddie and want to bring him to somewhere. To be surprised, there is a beautiful woman that Eddie loved so much is smiling to him. Eddie is so happy that they hug together. Then they sit on a chair that they can see the beautiful scenery. They both sink into their memories.

Eddie met a beautiful woman on a party of welcome the soldiers came back home in Ruby Pier. At that time, Eddie was fixing some rides in Ruby Pier. He saw a charming woman and kept looking at her. The woman was paid attention to Eddie, she walked to Eddie and asked him for some drinks. She told Eddie that her name is Marguerite. Eddie brought her to a shop that was closed. They got in by the key. Eddie told her that he had all the keys of Ruby Pier. They had a wonderful talk at that night. Then they fell in love.

Before Eddie to be a soldier, they had a part in Ruby Pier. They danced together. Marguerite was so worried about Eddie, and told him that she would wait for him till he came home alive. They had a wonderful night.

Eddie came back home with a wounded left leg. He didn’t work and just stayed in his bedroom. He abandoned himself. But Marguerite hadn’t left him.

At last, they married in a small restaurant. That is the most unforgettable memory in her life. But ten years later, Marguerite died because of cerebroma. Eddie brought her photo everywhere till Eddie died, just as she had never left him.

Eddie says, God was too early to take her from him that she can’t feel how much he loved her. Marguerite tells him that is the fourth lesson he has to learn. Love would not gone when the people was dead. The love just changed to another way like recall. She can feel the love from Eddie in heaven. Eddie asks her that can they don’t take apart anymore? Marguerite answers him, yes. They walks to a small restaurant which they had the wedding ceremony. They dance like what they did in their wedding ceremony. Marguerite tells Eddie that she loves their wedding ceremony, so she collects the wedding ceremony all over the world in heaven.

Suddenly, Marguerite is gone. Eddie is so sad that he is kneeling on the floor with tears. He feels his heart is broken. He keeps asking the same question over and over again, “How can you leave me twice?” But the place has changed.

Connect-The-Sentences: Conjunctions

Especially if you're new to English, or any language for that matter. You would probably favour shorter sentences, just so you don't risk making unnecessary grammatical errors. While that makes for a good start, one should always look to improve on that, after having mastered the basics of sentence structuring -- subject-verb-object for English.

Your ability to use conjunctions across a range of situations could prove to be a powerful tool in making your writing sound more fluid and less "mechanical".

In case you don't know what conjunctions are, hopefully the Wikipedia link below would provide you with a general idea(don't worry if you don't understand everything, a basic understanding of what conjunctions are would suffice):

Now, with our knowledge of how grammatical conjunctions work, let us take a look at how we could put them into use:

Without conjunctions
I went to the zoo. It was a hot day. I saw a bear. I bought an ice-cream.

With conjunctions 
With it being a hot day, I bought an ice-cream while I was at the zoo, after having seen a bear.

 *Conjunctions were underlined.

Okay, I might have overdone it in the second example, but you get the picture.:)

With experience, you will learn to judge, depending on the style you're writing in, and the message you'd like to convey, whether or not writing such long sentences would benefit your circumstance.

Even though the second example used more words, it managed to combine four whole sentences into one. That in itself, reduces your need of stating the subject repeatedly, hence making things flow better, while reducing redundancies in your writing (i.e. repeatedly telling readers things they already knew). There's a fine line between reminding and nagging.:D

Using the list of conjunctions provided by Wikipedia, or any other grammar sites or books, try to apply them in your writing, bit by bit. It'll get easier with practice. Try to avoid starting sentences with "I", even while introducing yourself in writing. Also try cutting down the usage of "the", "these", "that", etc..Having consecutive sentences start with"I"s and "the"s makes the reader feel like he/she would have to "start afresh" after every full-stop, making a piece of writing feel less like
a story, and more like a list of bullet-point statements.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven (part 3)

Eddie is in a foggy place. There is at night. Eddie can see the bright moon. He keeps walking for a while. He sees a small restaurant that was closed and replaced by other shop in Ruby Pier. He sees his father is sitting beside the glass in the restaurant. Eddie walks to the glass and knock at the glass. He calls his father loudly. But that is so strange, his father even the people in the restaurant don’t notice of Eddie. They all keep doing the some thing.

A woman walks to Eddie and tells him to go in to the restaurant. But Eddie is not willing to do that because his father is in there too. He hates his father so much. His father always scolded him and hits him, though there was not his fault. He thinks his father is more like his younger bother than him. He also thinks that his father died because he had a heavy drink in a heavy rainy night outside and had the pneumonia. After he dead, Eddie had to earn money for the family. He had to give up his dream what was to be an engineer. He also had to take his father’s place in the family. He worked in Ruby Pier for his whole life. He hates this place too.

The woman is the third people Eddie meets. Eddie tells her that he doesn’t know her. The woman says that she is in his life and she also influences his whole life. Please trust her. They go in to the restaurant. The woman tells Eddie that she knows all the people in the restaurant. They are in her memory, so she can let them in her heaven. But that is just the memory not the real. She points to the photos on the wall, and says. She was there when the park opened at the first day. She is Ruby Pier. That is her park. When she was young, she was waitress in this restaurant. That was the happiest memory in her life. She met her husband here. Her husband was so rich. After they married, her husband built the park for her. There was a photo of Ruby Pier’s on the park gate. Her husband wanted Ruby could see everyone who was in the park.

But one day, the park had a heavy fire because of firework. Ruby’s husband wanted to take her photo that was on the gate. After this happen, many people were died and her husband was sick. She spent all of their money for her husband to treatment. She sold the park either. She took care of her husband everyday. Several months later, her husband was died. She lost everything because the park. She is rather than didn’t build the park. The park had hurt so many people even herself.

The woman keeps talking, she tells Eddie that his father was a really good man. He dead did not because of drinking. At that heavy rainy night, his friend came to his house and wanted to do something to his wife. At that time, he came home and saw what happened. He was so angry. He wanted to catch him and fight with him. He kept running on the street to catch his friend. His friend fell in the sea. His friend could ignore his friend and went away, but he didn’t. He jumped into the sea and saved his friend. His kind-heart defeated his angry. After that, he had the pneumonia and he was died.

Eddie is so sad. The woman tells him that is the third lesson he has to learn. He has to forgive his father. Hatred will hurt both the people who hates and be hated. Forgiveness is very important for us to keep away from hurt.

After she tells Eddie, she is gone. The place has changed again.
